| Can-Am Jeep Club |
| Type of community: | Off Road Club | | Location: | MI, ON | | Vehicles permitted: | | ORV | |
| | Website: | | | Description: | This club is founded on the principal that there be events and social gatherings for all levels of Jeep Ownership. So often, clubs of this nature, can lose focus and only see what the hard-core members or a select group of friends envision for a club. We hope to be different here. Our goal is a simple one - have fun, share Jeep stories and adhere to Tread Lightly regardless of the event. This club is designed with the "family" in mind. Husbands, wifes, kids, all ages and demographics - if you own a Jeep, you're welcome in this club.
Our web-space is free compliments of Off-road.com Off-road.com has been around for over 10 years and offers a great deal of web space for 4x4 clubs.
The second Wednesday of each month is an official Club meeting.
This club is also one of the first Jeep clubs to aim at both the Canadian and American market. The name is Can-Am, obviously short for Canadian-American. There is no malice intended by not naming the club Am-Can, but it simply didn't flow as nicely. On our web-site you will find both countries flags, and when we start planning events, both Ontario and Michigan will be listed with events. It is our hope to have a strong club that is united by Jeep ownership on both sides of the beautiful St. Clair River (hence the "Blue-Water" area).
As in any club, it is against Human rights legislation to ban anyone from joining. If a member wants to join that does not have a Jeep, we will list them as a co-pilot. We doubt a Corvette owner would want to be a member, but he/she is welcome. The only restriction/s associated with this club is: for outing's or events that your Jeep is being driven, you must have a driver with a valid drivers license, and your Jeep must be street legal. (i.e. insurance, properly licensed/tagged). A strict set of rules will apply to ensure the safety of all participants for off-road outings and Tread Lightly will be adhered to. Respecting the land and saving it for future use is everyone's responsibility.
We look forward to seeing you at our bi-weekly meetings and we will be working hard to plan some events in the very near future. We will have membership application forms and flyers for you at our get-together's. We will also bring a digital camera for a picture of your Jeep and write up on our members page of our web-site. Our yearly dues are only $25 CDN or $20 US. (This includes off-road insurance via Northern Lights).
Enjoy your Jeep and all the benefits of membership. |
